Dr Michael Jack has a background in theoretical physics in the areas of quantum optics and ultracold atoms. He received his PhD from Auckland University and has held research positions in a number of international research laboratories and Universities. For the last 7 years his research has focused on bioenergy systems and biofuel products derived from renewable woody material. He specializes in mathematical modelling and analysis of energy systems. He represents New Zealand on the executive committee of IEA Bioenergy.
